HP DesignJet 500 Printer
Nic Marshall has very kindly offered us the use of his HP DesignJet 500 large-format printer (model number C7769B), currently in G11. We have agreed to make a contribution to running costs (paper and ink), but Hackspace members are welcome to make use of it.
Connection
This old but wonderful printer only has a parallel and USB interface; it is linked to the wireless network via a raspberry PI running CUPS The main CUPS server (on the membership PC) re-broadcasts from this server to make the machine available to wireless and wired network users.
Please don't unplug the Pi computer, or USB link, unless you need to and for some reason REALLY cannot make it work over the network; if you do please put it all back together.

- Finding a driver that works has proven problematic; try http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL39819/Raster-39/macOS_HP_DesignJet_Raster_Driver.dmg and please update this wiki with any success you may have…..
- LINUX:
- If you have Avahi-daemon or a similar bonjour / zero conf setup (Debian, Ubuntu, etc) it should appear.
