Welcome to the Bristol Hackspace Wiki

The Blackstar Meteor 600 is a simple frequency counter, 5Hz-600MHz in 3 ranges. It is uncalibrated, but is reasonably sensitive, has a higher frequency resolution than oscilloscopes, and since it is crystal controlled it should be more stable than the signal generators.

It has two inputs:

  • Input A: high impedance, low to medium frequency. A scope probe can be used to connect to the circuit under test.
  • Input B: RF frequencies, so it has a 50ohm input and requires 50ohm coax cable. Untested.

Location: on the shelves above the electronic testbench, together with a dedicated brick PSU. The operating/service manuals in the “bankers box”, also on those shelves.
