Bristol Open Technology Lab C.I.C.

Bristol Open Technology Lab C.I.C. (or BOTLab for short) is a community interest company (Company No. 7071572) set up as an “umbrella” for technology-related community projects in Bristol. Currently our only project is Bristol Hackspace, but in principle we could take on others. It was set up to be a legal entity able to sign in place of an individual on rental agreements, to open bank accounts, obtain insurance, etc. We have no shareholders - instead we have a constitution giving all members a right to vote on the running of the organisation, and five directors, elected by the members at the AGM, who oversee day-to-day activities.
